Photo prints

Got this roll developed a while back, and it is just another reminder to me how much better film is than digital. There's a quality that just can't be matched.

I love the intimacy portraits can show, and I think that's another reason why I love photographing family and close friends. When you're close to someone already you can tell in the photographs.

Winter Break

I miss school. I think I'm legitimately depressed because of how unsocial I've been in the past 3 weeks. Which probably explains my new fascination with the dead plants in my back yard. I haven't had any access to the printmaking labs, and I haven't been able to develop the 3 rolls of film sitting on my dresser (it's a 40 minute drive to Wolf Camera from my parents' new place), so my old digital SLR camera has been my only fix.

These images kind of represent my Christmas spirit this year (or lack there-of)...

If I had these next images printed I'd like to see them large, like 40"x40", so keep that in mind when you view them on your computer screen...

Small Landscapes

For my latest assignment in printmaking, we were told to use the method of monotypes. My concept behind these came from road trips my aunt used to take me on when I was a kid. We traveled all over Florida, and the only thing I saw when I looked out the window was the sky and the flat landscape. Recently I came back into contact with that part of my family, which is how I came up with the idea. I used these to help me through those old memories and feelings. They're approximately 3"x3".
